Wordless Wednesday

Colorado Wildflowers

Colorado constantly surprises me. This plant suddenly appeared in my yard this week and I was blown away. It’s so interesting that I couldn’t leave today’s post wordless. Commonly called a Spotted Coralroot (Corallorhiza maculata), this native orchid is “a leafless plant, with absolutely no chlorophyll to the plant whatsoever. No green in this orchid. The color of the plant ranges from a brilliant yellow to orange, red to deep maroon.” Little miracles every day!
